Job Title: Apartment Maintenance Technician

About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a residential property management company in Sheboygan to hire an Apartment Maintenance Technician to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning apartment community.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting problems, completing repairs, and helping residents feel at home. You'll handle a variety of maintenance needs throughout the property, from apartment turnovers and service requests to preventative maintenance and seasonal upkeep.
The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, and comfortable balancing independent work with resident service and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete apartment repairs and prepare units for incoming residents
- Respond to resident maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and carpentry issues
- Perform drywall repairs, painting, fixture replacements, and door and lock repairs
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the community
- Maintain clean, safe, and presentable common areas and shared amenities
- Assist with outdoor property upkeep, including snow and ice removal during winter
- Document completed repairs, work orders, and maintenance activities
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are needed
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to address urgent maintenance issues
- Follow established safety procedures and maintain quality standards across the property
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous maintenance experience in apartment communities, residential properties, hotels, facilities, or a similar setting
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical repairs, appliances, drywall, painting, and carpentry
- Ability to identify problems, determine appropriate solutions, and complete repairs effectively
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple work orders
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
- Basic hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Preferred:
- Previous apartment maintenance or residential property management experience
- Familiarity with computerized work order systems and preventative maintenance schedules
- Experience with HVAC troubleshooting and apartment turnover preparation
