United Way's Tocqueville Society is made up of the region's leading philanthropists who are working together in Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania to make a meaningful impact in our community and effect positive change for people in need. Tocqueville members set the standard for giving and service in our community by donating $10,000 or more annually.

United Way is looking for a dynamic, experienced professional to cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gifts from local individuals and families. The ideal candidate will have experience and success in raising gifts at the $10,000+ level.

United Way's Tocqueville Development Officer will have responsibility for overseeing the retention, growth and engagement of all aspects concerning United Way's Tocqueville Society members and prospects. This individual is responsible for relationship management and direct solicitation of gifts for a portfolio of 170 - 185 Tocqueville members and prospects

As the primary relationship manager, the Tocqueville Development Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure significant and deferred gifts through planned giving, estate plans and other gift vehicles.

A bachelor's degree and more than 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with at least three years' in a role focused on major gifts identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition is required. Three to five years of experience with various types of planned giving instruments is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of education.

Annual Salary
Pay Grade 109
Salary Range - $67,000 - $73,000
