🕒 Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
About the Role
We are looking for a Quality Engineering Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in Saugerties, NY. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring product quality by performing mechanical inspections, documentation, and quality control processes for precision-machined components and assemblies.

What You’ll Do
Inspection & Quality Control
- Perform mechanical inspections using calibrated tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections
- Inspect incoming materials and components to ensure they meet specifications
- Review and reconcile final inspection documentation for outgoing shipments
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately document non-conformances in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Identify, label, and process conforming and non-conforming materials
- Maintain inspection records and support data entry in systems (Excel-based tracking)
Blueprint Reading & Technical Review
- Interpret and inspect parts against blueprints and shop drawings
- Verify flat pattern programs and part geometry against specifications
Cross-Functional Support
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers/vendors to ensure quality standards are met
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality-focused projects
- Support adherence to company quality policies, procedures, and safety standards (PPE required)
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or quality inspection environment preferred
- Hands-on experience with:
- Inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Mechanical parts inspection
- Ability to:
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Perform basic math (fractions, measurements, conversions)
- Working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Excel and Word (data entry, documentation)
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with GMP or regulated manufacturing environments
- Background in machine builds or assemblies
- Exposure to quality assurance systems or laboratory environments
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Customer-facing or vendor communication experience

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saugerties, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
