About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of facility infrastructure by performing a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks. This position requires diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and structural issues and implementing effective solutions to prevent downtime and maintain operational efficiency. The technician will work proactively to inspect equipment and systems, identify potential problems, and execute timely repairs to extend the lifespan of assets. Collaboration with other team members and clear communication with management are essential to prioritize maintenance activities and respond promptly to urgent needs. Ultimately, the Maintenance Technician contributes to a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment that supports the overall productivity of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in maintenance work involving plumbing, electrical wiring, mechanical repair, and carpentry.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments accurately.
  • Physical ability to climb ladders and perform manual labor.
  • Good hearing and verbal communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations related to building maintenance.
  • Additional skills in welding or HVAC repair.
  • Prior experience working in a commercial or industrial facility environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical wiring, and structural components.
  • Diagnose and repair issues related to mechanical equipment, electrical circuits, plumbing fixtures, and building infrastructure.
  • Use precision measuring tools to assess and ensure the accuracy of repairs and installations.
  • Install, repair, and maintain drywall, carpentry elements, and other building materials as needed.
  • Climb ladders and access elevated areas safely to inspect and service equipment or building components.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report issues and coordinate maintenance schedules.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

The required skills such as plumbing, electrical wiring, and mechanical repair are essential for diagnosing and fixing a variety of facility issues on a daily basis. Precision measuring ensures that repairs and installations meet exact specifications, preventing future malfunctions. Carpentry and drywall skills allow the technician to maintain and restore structural elements of the building effectively. The ability to climb ladders safely is necessary for accessing hard-to-reach areas during inspections and repairs.
