Job Description
About This Opportunity
Judit Inc. is recruiting on behalf of a staffing partner that supports one of the nation's largest public power providers. This is a 12-month, temporary contract position: you'll be a W-2 employee of our partner and work onsite at a nuclear generating site, directly alongside the plant's team.
The description below is the hiring team's overview of the background, skills, and experience they're looking for. If you meet most — but not all — of these, we still want to hear from you. Your Judit recruiter will walk you through the day-to-day work, schedule, pay, and contract length before anything moves forward.
What you'll do
You'll be the implementation lead for plant modification and maintenance work at a nuclear generating site, owning field safety, scope, cost, and schedule from early study through completion. You'll plan and estimate work with integrated project teams, manage the contractors who perform it, and make sure every job meets quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
Field safety and execution
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for field work safety, execution requirements, financial planning, human performance, and operational risk
- Oversee field work for safety, standardization, quality, and housekeeping compliance
- Own assigned programmatic requirements, such as the safety manual, fatigue rule, asbestos abatement, Appendix R, scaffolding, and painting programs
- When applicable, perform and document field observations in the approved database, make sure issues are captured in the Corrective Action Program (CAP), and support completion of follow-up actions
- Review and approve supplemental oversight plans and safety plans
- Ensure compliance with the Adverse Employment Actions process for work within your scope, and provide input and documentation when needed
Planning, scope, cost, and schedule
- Perform or review conceptual, design, and implementation estimates for assigned work
- Develop project and work requirements that set implementation up for success
- Coordinate with integrated project and work teams to plan, scope, and estimate work across all phases
- Review scope, cost, and schedule, report status, and flag problem areas early with solutions
- Identify and secure the resources needed for estimating, planning, and implementation
- Develop and review change documents to get approval for scope, funding, and schedule changes
Design and engineering input
- Make sure design packages are implemented in a standard way, consistent with the fleet approach
- Develop efficient, innovative implementation solutions that meet operational and technical requirements and are easy to maintain and operate
- Present modification data and input at design review meetings
- Provide implementation input for project scoping documents, engineering studies, and engineering scoping documents from study through implementation
- Review and recommend on technical sections of proposals during competitive bidding
Contractor management
- Administer and manage all contractors performing services on your assigned work, and make sure additional contract partners support budget and schedule milestones
- Before work begins, issue approved contractor work release forms and give contractors the approved work document, funding estimates, and schedule; control spending on each release
- Serve as contract technical steward (CTS) and/or field invoice approver (FIA) when requested
Outage and emergent work
- Support the Outage or Project Control Center and emergent issue management
- Serve as Senior Implementation Manager when requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
