Investment Analyst, Fundamental Equities (New York, New York): Investment Analyst, Fundamental Equities positions available. D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. seeks full-time Investment Analyst, Fundamental Equities, to work in its office in New York, New York. Responsibilities: Support fundamental investment strategies. Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information to make trade decisions. Collect and analyze data and develop algorithms, forecasting models, and trading tools for the analysis of companies. Build financial models that pertain to current and prospective investments in public equities. Analyze business models and strategic imperatives for current and potential investments and update current and future valuation expectations. Utilize statistical and machine-learning techniques to generate trading ideas and manage risk. Maintain relationships with management teams, research analysts, and industry experts. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, International Business, or a related field of study plus one (1) year of experience formulating and applying mathematical modeling and optimizing methods to develop and interpret information to make investment decisions; collecting and analyzing data and developing forecasting models and investment tools for the analysis of companies; building financial models that pertain to current and prospective investments; analyzing business models and strategic imperatives for current and potential investments and updating current and future valuation expectations; and utilizing statistical techniques to generate investment ideas and manage risk.
