Macro Trader (New York, New York): Macro Trader positions available. D. E. Shaw & Co., L.P. seeks full-time Macro Trader, to work in its office in New York, New York. Responsibilities: Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information to make trading decisions. Collect and analyze data and develop algorithms, forecasting models, and trading tools that will be used to trade in the U.S. markets. Analyze profit and loss in our trading portfolio and improve the current trading strategies. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience with mathematical modeling and time-series forecasting; data analysis, including regression modeling and statistical data processing; Microsoft Excel, Python, and JupyterLab; providing input to, configuring, and interpreting the output of financial pricing and valuation models; economic and financial flow data, including balance of payments data; back-testing and validating quantitative forecasting and trading models using historical market and economic time-series data; building and interpreting scenario simulations to assess portfolio, revenue, and risk outcomes; designing technical specifications for data-driven financial software tools and working with engineering teams to implement and deploy those tools; and designing and coding automation workflows for gathering, cleaning, and analyzing financial data.
