This position involves accurately measuring openings, preparing materials, completing safe and professional installations, and ensuring finished work meets customer and company quality standards.The ideal candidate has experience with commercial storefront systems, windows, doors, mirrors, shower enclosures, or other architectural glass products. Candidates must be comfortable using hand and power tools, handling large or fragile materials, lifting throughout the workday, and working at varying heights.Essential Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, prepare, install, and replace glass according to job specifications.
- Install commercial storefront glass, windows, doors, mirrors, shower enclosures, and other architectural glass products.
- Remove broken or damaged glass and safely prepare openings for replacement materials.
- Install framing, hardware, weather stripping, gaskets, sealants, and related components.
- Read blueprints, drawings, work orders, and product specifications.
- Confirm measurements and material requirements before beginning installation.
- Safely transport and handle glass, frames, tools, and installation equipment.
- Use ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, suction equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
- Apply caulk, sealants, and weatherproofing materials to completed installations.
- Inspect finished work for proper fit, appearance, operation, and safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle, work area, and job site.
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, supervisors, and other trades.
- Follow OSHA requirements and all company safety procedures.
- Perform additional installation, service, shop, or warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous glazing, glass installation, construction, carpentry, or related experience preferred.
- Commercial storefront and architectural glass experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic construction math.
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and installation instructions.
- Familiarity with glazing tools, materials, hardware, sealants, and safe installation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an installation team.
- Good communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and carry 50-75 pounds, with team assistance for heavier or oversized materials.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and use tools for extended periods.
- Safely work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
- Safely handle sharp, fragile, heavy, and oversized materials.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
