We are seeking a Job Captain / Architectural Designer to join our growing architectural team in Fort Washington, PA. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with residential design experience who can develop construction documents, coordinate projects, and collaborate with architects, consultants, and clients throughout all phases of design.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing wood-framed residential buildings, preparing construction documents, and ensuring projects are completed accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with applicable building codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive construction documents for residential projects.
- Develop architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and details using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
- Coordinate project documentation with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal team members.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and document management throughout the design process.
- Ensure drawings comply with building codes, zoning regulations, and client requirements.
- Review shop drawings, product submittals, and RFIs.
- Participate in project meetings and coordinate design revisions.
- Support projects from schematic design through construction administration.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across all project documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture required.
- 3+ years of architectural design experience preferred.
- Experience with residential architecture, including wood-framed construction.
- Strong experience producing construction documents for residential projects.
- Knowledge of residential building codes and construction practices.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Revit (preferred) and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multifamily, mixed-use, or custom residential projects.
- Understanding of construction administration processes.
- Progress toward architectural licensure is a plus.
