Job Title: Development Department Assistant
Location: Hebrew Academy | Huntington Beach, CA
Status: Full-Time | In-Person

Position Overview:
Hebrew Academy is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Development Department Assistant to support our fundraising, donor engagement, and general office operations. This is a highly collaborative role that blends administrative support, donor communication, event coordination, and front-desk hospitality. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, tech-savvy, and passionate about helping a mission-driven team thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Development Department, including calendar management, meeting prep, and donor communications.

  • Maintain accurate donor records and process gifts.

  • Draft thank-you letters, pledge reminders, and fundraising reports.

  • Coordinate logistics for donor events and internal meetings.

  • Manage daily office operations: order supplies, welcome visitors, answer calls, and maintain a professional front desk.

  • Support special projects, communications, and database updates across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • 1–3 years in nonprofit development, administrative support, or operations.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite; familiarity with CRM systems and QuickBooks is a plus.

  • Friendly, resourceful, and comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

Compensation

  • Starting Salary: $53,000, depending on experience
