Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift, Direct Hire (Columbia City, IN)
Position Overview
The maintenance technician ensures optimal operation of plant machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, and associated functions. This company has a diverse set of machines to be involved with material handling, agricultural, power generation, and defense industries. The role is full-time and provides full-time health / vision / dental benefits, PTO, etc. This role reports to the maintenance supervisor.
Work environment is within a 289,000 sq. ft. facility and is climate controlled!
Shifts Available:
- 1st Shift, 10 – 12 hr shifts (45 hrs/wk.)
- 2nd Shift, 10 – 12 hr shifts (45 hrs/wk.)
Starting Pay Range:
- $24 - $28/hr. + shift differential
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment/machinery
- Performing maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, CNC machines, and other production machines
- Performing emergency repairs
- Process requests through internal work order program
Required Skills and Abilities
- Willing and able to work past scheduled hours when necessary
- Must have good math, reading, and writing skills
- Good problem solving and root cause skill
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to articulate and comprehend complex environments
- Works well alone and in a team environment
Education and Experience
- 3+ years' experience with industrial maintenance & machine troubleshooting
- 1 year experience using Lean Manufacturing Tools
- Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, electric, and electronics maintenance
- Knowledge and experience with forklifts; willing and able to receive forklift certification
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Nice to Have
- 1 - 3 years of CNC machine troubleshooting experience
