Maintenance Technician – Apartment Industry
Location: Houston, TX

Certified Apartment Staffing is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians for apartment communities throughout Houston, TX. If you have experience in apartment maintenance and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining apartment homes, completing resident work orders, preparing vacant units for new residents, and ensuring the property remains clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Responsibilities
Work Orders & General Maintenance
- Complete resident service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, drywall, carpentry, and general maintenance issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance to keep apartment homes and community amenities in excellent condition.
- Accurately document completed work orders.
Make Ready & Unit Turns
- Complete apartment make-readies for new move-ins.
- Perform inspections, punch-list items, repairs, painting, and final quality checks.
- Ensure every apartment is move-in ready and meets community standards.
Property Maintenance
- Maintain the appearance of common areas and grounds.
- Assist with trash removal, pressure washing, painting, and minor exterior repairs.
- Help ensure the property remains clean, safe, and attractive for residents and guests.
Inventory & Safety
- Properly use and maintain maintenance tools and equipment.
- Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and all company safety procedures.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency maintenance, as needed.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of apartment maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, drywall, and general maintenance.
- EPA Certification preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
