Our challenge:
\n
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect / Solutions Architect to lead enterprise data architecture and solution design initiatives for large-scale transformation programs. The ideal candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership across data platforms, integration ecosystems, cloud modernization, and enterprise analytics solutions.
\n
This role requires strong expertise in data architecture, solution architecture, data modeling, cloud platforms, data integration, and governance, with a proven ability to design scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions aligned with business and technology objectives.
\n
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, engineers, and delivery teams to define target-state architectures, modernize legacy landscapes, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with applicable laws, the expected base salary range for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $120K - $130K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role
\n
Responsibilities:
\n
- \n
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture and solution architecture for complex transformation programs.
- Define target-state data architecture, integration patterns, and platform strategies.
- Develop scalable and reusable architecture frameworks for data ingestion, processing, storage, and consumption.
- Provide architecture leadership for cloud migration, data modernization, and analytical platform initiatives.
- Design end-to-end data solutions spanning source systems, ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and reporting layers.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Create architecture artifacts including current-state assessments, target-state diagrams, data flow diagrams, and solution blueprints.
- Establish architecture standards, design principles, and best practices for enterprise data platforms.
- Evaluate and recommend suitable technologies, tools, and platforms based on business needs and future scalability.
- Support master data, metadata, data quality, data lineage, and governance initiatives.
- Design integration architectures for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.
- Define standards for data security, privacy, access control, and compliance.
- Lead cloud-native architecture decisions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure architecture is implemented effectively and consistently.
- Conduct architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical governance sessions.
- Provide guidance on performance tuning, resiliency, scalability, and operational supportability.
- Support modern analytics, BI, AI/ML, and regulatory reporting use cases.
- Work with agile delivery teams to shape roadmaps, epics, user stories, and technical dependencies.
- Present solution options, trade-offs, and recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership.
- Mentor data engineers, ETL developers, and junior architects across delivery squads.

Requirements:
\n

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, solution architecture, data engineering, or enterprise integration.
- Strong experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms and modern data ecosystems.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, ETL/ELT, integration patterns, and analytics platforms.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data services and architecture on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong experience with SQL, data transformation, and data platform design.
- Proven ability to architect end-to-end solutions across source, integration, storage, and consumption layers.
- Experience with data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse architectures.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, lineage, metadata management, and data quality principles.
- Experience defining architecture standards and solution design documentation.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Strong understanding of APIs, batch processing, streaming, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Experience with enterprise reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics use cases.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in Agile and SAFe delivery environments.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and influence architectural decisions across teams.
- Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other regulated industries is preferred.

- Experience with regulatory reporting, risk, finance, or customer analytics platforms.
- Exposure to data governance tools, cataloging tools, or MDM solutions.
- Knowledge of Informatica, Talend, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, or dbt.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, and DevOps practices for data platforms.
- Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance processes.
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect, or GCP Professional Data Engineer.
- Experience leading architecture for modernization from legacy data warehouses to cloud-native platforms.
