Job Description
Pest Control Technician — Residential Route
Location: Forney, Texas
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $36,480–$67,320 annually, based on experience, route production, customer retention, and overall performance
A Route for a Technician Who Takes Ownership
WING 8® Pest Services is seeking a high-performing residential pest control technician who wants more responsibility, greater earning potential, and a direct connection between performance and advancement.
This position is for someone who does more than complete stops.
The right technician:
- Takes ownership of the condition and performance of the route
- Communicates professionally with homeowners
- Identifies problems others overlook
- Produces accurate and complete service documentation
- Protects customer retention
- Makes appropriate service recommendations
- Maintains an organized vehicle and inventory
- Can be trusted to work independently
WING 8® is a locally owned company based in Forney, Texas. We provide residential pest control, termite protection, mosquito control, SMART® rodent solutions, exclusion work, and specialty services throughout East Dallas and surrounding communities.
We are building a professional field-service company—not a high-volume operation that treats technicians as replaceable route numbers.
What Success Looks Like
A successful WING 8® technician:
- Arrives prepared and manages the day efficiently
- Completes thorough, consistent services without cutting corners
- Explains findings and recommendations clearly
- Resolves customer concerns before they become cancellations
- Maintains accurate notes, photographs, product records, and service reports
- Identifies legitimate opportunities for additional protection
- Protects company property, equipment, products, and customer homes
- Continues developing technical, customer-service, and route-management skills
- Produces measurable results in quality, retention, route revenue, and customer satisfaction
This is not a door-to-door sales role. Technicians are expected to recognize customer needs and make honest recommendations—not pressure customers into unnecessary services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled residential pest control services on an assigned route
- Inspect structures and surrounding areas for pest activity, entry points, and contributing conditions
- Apply products according to labels, company procedures, and Texas regulations
- Explain service findings, treatment methods, and prevention recommendations
- Complete digital service reports, photographs, notes, and product documentation
- Communicate delays, property concerns, and customer issues promptly
- Maintain the service vehicle, equipment, inventory, and assigned materials
- Assist with termite, mosquito, rodent, exclusion, and specialty services as trained and licensed
- Participate in licensing, technical training, ride-alongs, and performance reviews
The Reality of the Position
This is active, year-round field work in North Texas.
You must be comfortable:
- Working outdoors in heat, cold, humidity, and changing weather
- Walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing throughout the day
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Using ladders and inspecting elevated exterior areas
- Entering attics, garages, crawlspaces, and confined spaces
- Driving between appointments
- Working independently for most of the day
- Communicating directly with customers at nearly every stop
Candidates looking for a warehouse, office, or low-accountability position will not be a fit.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Acceptable motor-vehicle record
- Ability to meet company vehicle-insurance eligibility standards
- Ability to pass required background and driving-record checks
- Ability to obtain and maintain required Texas pest-control licensing
- Professional appearance and communication
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to use mobile applications and field-service software
- Ability to perform the physical duties of the position
- Willingness to accept coaching, follow procedures, and be measured against performance standards
Preferred Qualifications
Strong candidates may have experience in:
- Residential pest control
- Termite inspection or treatment
- Rodent control or exclusion
- Mosquito control
- Lawn or landscape services
- Pool service
- HVAC or plumbing service
- Property maintenance
- Route delivery
- Cable, utility, or home-service installation
- Construction, roofing, or exterior inspection
Experienced technicians with current Texas licensing, strong customer-retention history, route-management experience, or specialty-service experience will receive priority consideration.
Exceptional candidates from related field-service industries may be considered for paid training.
Compensation and Development
WING 8® uses a structured compensation path that provides stability during training and increased earning potential as route responsibility grows.
- Paid state-required and company training
- Hourly compensation during onboarding and route development
- Starting compensation based on experience, licensing, and demonstrated ability
- Opportunity to transition to production-based compensation
- Earnings influenced by route production, service quality, retention, and additional service revenue
- Direct-deposit payroll
- Company vehicle provided for company work
- Company-provided uniforms, equipment, products, and safety gear
- Licensing and continuing-education support
- Opportunities to develop into specialty services, route leadership, training, or management
Production compensation and advancement are earned through demonstrated performance. They are not automatic based solely on time employed or licensing status.
Why High Performers Choose WING 8®
At a large company, a strong technician can become one employee among hundreds. At WING 8®, performance is visible.
High-performing technicians receive:
- Direct access to company leadership
- Clear expectations and accountability
- Greater independence as trust is earned
- Recognition for route growth and customer retention
- The opportunity to influence how the service department develops
- Access to modern pest, termite, mosquito, rodent, and exclusion programs
- A path to increased responsibility as the company expands
WING 8® does not need someone who simply wants to complete the minimum number of stops.
We are looking for someone who wants to become one of the most trusted, productive, and professional residential pest control technicians in the market.
How to Apply
Submit a current resume showing your employment history and relevant experience.
Applicants with pest control experience should include:
- Current or previous Texas licenses
- Types of routes serviced
- Residential or commercial experience
- Termite, mosquito, rodent, or exclusion experience
- Any measurable route, retention, sales, or production results
Applicants without direct pest control experience should include a brief explanation of why their field-service background, work history, and performance make them a strong candidate.
