Shifts: 10:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m., five days/week. Weekends are required.
Pay: Up to $38/hour, plus overtime pay
Lead Maintenance in a High-Speed Food Production Environment
Our client is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Lead to oversee overnight maintenance operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This is a working lead role that combines mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with team leadership, preventive maintenance coordination, and support for continuous improvement initiatives. This is a new position that has been created due to this company's growth.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in food or beverage manufacturing, strong technical skills, and the ability to lead by example in a sanitation-focused production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional to step into a leadership role with a stable and growing food/beverage manufacturer. You'll have the chance to make a direct impact on equipment reliability, production efficiency, and maintenance team performance while working with modern processing and packaging equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support overnight maintenance activities for production and packaging equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems (up to 480V).
- Coordinate and prioritize preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
- Perform and oversee stainless steel sanitary welding and fabrication as needed.
- Support installation, repair, and modification of production equipment and facility systems.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
- Partner with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
- Enforce safety, GMP, and sanitation standards throughout the facility.
- Provide guidance, training, and technical support to maintenance technicians on the shift.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of maintenance experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment is required.
- Prior experience in a lead, supervisor, or senior technician role preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with VFDs, pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, and other production equipment.
- Sanitary welding and stainless steel fabrication experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Comfortable working in wet, refrigerated, and physically demanding environments.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and respond to urgent maintenance issues.
