Job Description

Position Summary:

\n

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and completion of electrical construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires close coordination with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal departments to drive successful project outcomes. The Project Manager plays a critical role in ensuring profitability, client satisfaction, and jobsite safety.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

Project Planning & Execution

\n

    \n
  • Lead project start-up, including contract review, schedule development, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • \n

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and progress tracking.
  • \n

  • Coordinate closely with the superintendent, foremen, and field crews to ensure work is performed according to plans and specifications.
  • \n

\n


\n

Budget & Cost Control

\n

    \n
  • Establish and manage project budgets, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment.
  • \n

  • Track job costs and forecast performance against original estimates using project management software and cost reports.
  • \n

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate project overruns through proactive management.
  • \n

\n


\n

Submittals, RFIs & Documentation

\n

    \n
  • Review and manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders in collaboration with estimators, engineers, and GCs.
  • \n

  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation including contracts, drawings, daily reports, meeting notes, and correspondence.
  • \n

\n


\n

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

\n

    \n
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • \n

  • Attend jobsite meetings and coordinate with architects, engineers, and inspectors as required.
  • \n

  • Maintain positive client relationships and address issues proactively to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • \n

\n

Subcontractor & Vendor Management

\n

    \n
  • Procure and manage electrical and specialty subcontractors and suppliers.
  • \n

  • Ensure all subcontractor work is integrated into the overall project schedule and meets safety, quality, and contractual standards.
  • \n

  • Approve invoices and track subcontractor performance.
  • \n

\n


\n

Quality & Safety Oversight

\n

    \n
  • Work closely with safety managers to enforce project-specific safety plans and conduct site safety audits.
  • \n

  • Monitor work for quality and compliance with drawings, specs, and codes.
  • \n

  • Identify and resolve issues quickly to avoid delays or rework.
  • \n

\n


\n

Qualifications:

\n

Education & Experience:

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • \n

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical construction project management, preferably in commercial or industrial sectors.
  • \n

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.
  • \n

\n

Skills & Abilities:

\n

    \n
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, construction sequencing, and electrical systems.
  • \n

  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, ProjectSight, Spectrum, MS Project, Bluebeam).
  • \n

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • \n

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly visits job sites, requiring walking, climbing, and navigating active construction areas.
  • \n

  • Must be able to use standard office equipment and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • \n

Work Environment:

  • Office-based with frequent travel to project sites and client meetings.

  • Occasional evening or weekend work based on project schedules.
