Manufacturing Maintenance Technician
Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and plant equipment in a high-speed, continuous production environment. This role requires hands-on experience in heavy manufacturing and the ability to work effectively in a challenging, industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair machines to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Test and troubleshoot electrical systems (minimum 480V); adjust or replace components as needed
- Install motors, heating systems, and various electrical control equipment
- Lead preventative maintenance tasks and project execution
- Operate forklifts, man lifts, and work safely at heights
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety protocols
- Perform general building and grounds maintenance
- Follow all safety and environmental regulations
Environment & Work Conditions:
- This is a heavy manufacturing role—residential, strictly automation, or strictly installation experience is not applicable
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to extreme heat, cold, moisture, chemicals, fumes, and moving machinery
- Must be comfortable operating in a difficult environment around chemicals and in variable weather conditions
- Requires regular lifting (up to 75 lbs), navigating uneven terrain, and working in elevated positions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with galvanizing or metal processing operations
- Familiarity with 3-phase motors, air compressors, and overhead cranes
- Minimum of 1 year of overhead crane operation experience
- Previous shift work experience, including 12-hour rotating shifts (7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM)
