About Pegasus Therapeutic Riding: For more than 50 years, Pegasus Therapeutic Riding has enhanced the lives of children and adults with disabilities and challenges through equine-assisted activities and education. Located in Brewster, New York, Pegasus provides therapeutic riding, therapeutic horsemanship, wellness and resilience programming, veteran services, leadership development, and community education.

Through the unique partnership between horses and humans, Pegasus empowers individuals to build confidence, independence, resilience, and lifelong skills.

\n

As Pegasus continues to grow, we are seeking an energetic, relationship-focused Development Manager to help expand our network of donors, sponsors, community partners, and supporters.

\n


\n

Pegasus Therapeutic Riding seeks an outgoing, motivated, and highly organized Development Manager to work closely with the Executive Director in advancing the organization's fundraising, community engagement, and strategic partnership efforts.

\n

This is an externally focused position for someone who enjoys networking, building relationships, creating partnerships, and connecting people to a mission that changes lives. The Development Manager will play an important role in growing Pegasus' fundraising efforts by cultivating donors, securing sponsorships, representing Pegasus throughout the community, and building relationships with businesses, foundations, civic organizations, and community leaders.

The ideal candidate is a strong relationship-builder who is comfortable attending networking events, making introductions, following up with prospective supporters, and helping create meaningful opportunities for individuals and organizations to invest in Pegasus' mission.

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Fundraising & Partnership Development

\n

· Identify and cultivate prospective donors, sponsors, corporate partners, and community organizations.

\n

· Research prospective donors, sponsors, community partners, and funding opportunities that align with Pegasus' mission.

\n

· Assist with sponsorship outreach, donor cultivation, and relationship management.

\n

· Help develop customized sponsorship opportunities and partnership proposals.

\n

· Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective donors, sponsors, and community partners.

\n

· Assist with stewardship efforts to strengthen long-term relationships with supporters.

\n

Community Engagement

\n

· Represent Pegasus at networking events, horse shows, community events, and other public functions.

\n

· Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador by communicating Pegasus' mission, programs, and community impact.

\n

· Increase community awareness by building relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, elected officials, and community leaders.

\n

· Identify opportunities for presentations, speaking engagements, and collaborative partnerships.

\n

Events & Sponsorships

\n

· Assist with sponsorship development for Pegasus' fundraising events, including the Annual Gala, Horse Show, and other special events.

\n

· Work with the Executive Director to identify new sponsorship opportunities and event partnerships.

\n

· Help cultivate event sponsors before, during, and after fundraising events.

\n

· Support donor recognition and sponsor stewardship activities.

\n


\n

Qualifications Required

\n

· Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, public relations, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

\n

· Two or more years of experience in fundraising, business development, sales, community relations, nonprofit development, or partnership development.

\n

· Demonstrated success building relationships with donors, sponsors, businesses, or community partners.

\n

· Excellent interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.

\n

· Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

\n

· Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

\n

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.

\n


\n

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour

\n


\n

This is a 30–35 hour per week position based at Pegasus Therapeutic Riding in Brewster, New York. Some evening and weekend hours are required to attend fundraising events, networking opportunities, and community functions.
