The Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assume administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for supervising and directing maintenance department

• Develop and implement repair and maintenance schedules for all areas of facility and grounds

• Supervise schedules for repair and maintenance contractors

• Participate in facility inspections and develop a plan of correction for Maintenance Services deficiencies noted

• Ensure that supplies are requested, approved, and ordered according to policy.

• Maintains building appearance and accessibility for residents and staff

• Has a mastery level of technical expertise (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural knowledge)

• Possesses the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant action

• Possesses the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public

• Has a positive attitude and cheerful disposition

• Is flexible and always willing to go the extra mile in terms

• Strives to ensure the safety of our residents

• Follows procedures and safety precautions

• Has excellent leadership and communication skills

The Qualifications & Physical Demands:

• 1 year's supervisory experience required. Previous long-term care experience is desirable.

• Maintenance experience in all areas of machinery and facility repair required.

• Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations

• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching

• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights
