Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Response Team in Dix Hills, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and support students, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
Monitor access points, assist with visitor screening practices, and help to support orderly entry and exit during school hours, events, and/or after-hours activities.
Support a positive environment by providing directions, answering questions, and reporting maintenance, behavioral, and/or security-related concerns according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
