A day in the life

You’ll start with a facilities walkthrough, ensuring production and office spaces are clean and orderly. From there, your day might include:

  • Diagnosing minor building issues and tackling hands-on fixes—patching and painting walls, repairing locks, and keeping common areas tidy.
  • Inspecting electrical panels and wiring to identify risks, confirm code compliance, and enhance personnel safety.
  • Supervising onsite contractors, guiding scope, verifying quality, and ensuring work areas remain safe.
  • Documenting maintenance activities and completing reports on time.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing appliances and facility equipment.
  • Maintaining outdoor areas—lighting, parking lots, and grounds—to keep the site welcoming and safe.
  • Replacing light housings and electrical fixtures as needed.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and building systems to minimize downtime.
  • Performing routine service on compressors, HVAC units, automated machinery, and mobile equipment.
  • Verifying the functionality of safety systems, including fire alarms.
  • Collaborating with teammates and external pros during renovations and upgrades.
  • Preparing material lists and requisitions to keep projects moving.
  • Attending online or offsite equipment and safety training to sharpen your skills.

How you work

  • Follow company policies and procedures with punctual, reliable attendance.
  • Keep your workspace clean and organized.
  • Hit goals, meet deadlines, and support our clients, the company, and your team.
  • Protect company confidentiality and jump in on other duties that advance our objectives.

Qualifications Required

  • Basic mechanical tool knowledge and effective use of hand tools/meters.
  • Foundational understanding of HVAC, plumbing, air compressors, and/or electrical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
  • Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity; comfortable on ladders and at heights up to 40 feet.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Technical or vocational school/college graduate.
  • OSHA 10-hour general industry safety training.
  • Drafting or welding experience.
  • Training in small engine repair, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
  • Experience with manlifts, scissorlifts, and/or forklifts.

Tools and tech

  • Regular use of forklifts alongside standard facility maintenance tools.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair are central to the role.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification is a plus.
