The Work
You keep our Lafayette and Delphi properties running. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and the Director of Maintenance, you own the day-to-day well-being of the buildings, systems, and grounds. When a furnace quits on a cold night, you are the reason a family stays warm. When a vacant unit turns in five days, you are the reason someone walks into a home that feels brand new.
You will drive your own reliable vehicle between properties. We reimburse every mile.
What you'll do:
- Complete service requests within 24 hours. Turn vacant units in five business days or less.
- Maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, structural elements, and grounds.
- Handle painting and drywall repairs that make unit turns and touch-ups look right.
- Inspect grounds, structures, and systems regularly. Fix what you find.
- Carry out preventative maintenance as scheduled by your supervisor.
- Assist the property manager with move-in and move-out inspections.
- Keep curb appeal sharp across grounds, common areas, and work areas.
- Share rotating 24-hour on-call duty with the maintenance team. On-call hours pay 1.5x.
- Work safely. Follow OSHA standards and company policy, and report incidents promptly.
What It Takes
- Three or more years of maintenance experience in multi-family or commercial property. HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and grounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle. Mileage reimbursed.
- Strength to lift 40 pounds and willingness to work in any weather.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental safety standards.
- Clear communication with residents, teammates, and your supervisor.
Even better:
- HVAC certification or EPA designation. Pay reflects the certifications you have earned.
- Knowledge of Equal Housing Opportunity (EHO) requirements.
