Job Description
As a Security Officer - Full Time in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. This role offers the chance to deliver outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and work with a team that values being agile, reliable, innovative, and acting with integrity.

What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and reporting concerns through proper channels.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout storefronts, common areas, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and high-traffic areas to help support orderly operations, assist with directions, and/or address customer and tenant questions in a professional manner.
- Assist with closing and opening activities, observe for policy violations, and communicate with local management and/or emergency responders when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
