As a Security Officer Gatehouse Attendant in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, manage visitor check-in processes, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document security-related concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, lobby areas, loading zones, and perimeter, with duties varying based on location conditions and operational needs.
- Communicate with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access issues, unusual activity, and/or security-related incidents that may impact daily operations.
Minimum Requirements:
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
