Job DescriptionJob Title: POS Developer
Location: Pleasanton, CA - 3 days a week onsite
Length: 8 months

Role Summary:
Experienced POS developer required and specific skills attached. They will be part of a bigger, client-led team, who will investigate issues, and build new enhancements to the existing Toshiba based POS. They must be able to effectively communicate and provide status to the broader team daily. Retail and Point-of-Sale experience is critical.

NextGen POS Developer
Key responsibilities
• Define and drive the technical architecture for NextGen POS solutions.
• Design and support integrations for PIN Pad Controller (PPC) and ACE PIN pad interface components.
• Provide architectural guidance for Store Integrator (SI) modules, including both non-GUI and GUI layers.
• Ensure scalable, maintainable, and secure implementation across POS application components.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Review designs and code to ensure alignment with architectural standards and platform patterns.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex issues across POS and retail store environments.
• Contribute to modernization efforts and continuous improvement of POS frameworks.
Required skills and experience
• Strong Java development experience.
• Hands-on experience with PPC framework and ACE knowledge.
• Experience with Ingenico knowledge and payment device integration.
• Experience with SI (AEF & POSBC).
• Strong understanding of Store Integrator Framework for non-GUI solutions.
• Experience with Store Integrator Graphical User Interface development.
• Knowledge of Swing Framework, XML, and MVC architecture.
• Familiarity with Self-Checkout systems.
• Strong problem-solving, design, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred qualifications
• Experience architecting retail POS platforms at enterprise scale.
• Background in payment hardware integration and store systems.
• Ability to mentor developers and guide technical standards across teams.
