About HPF:

Houston Precision Fasteners produces high strength, close tolerance, fatigue rated fasteners using materials such as alloy steel, 718, titanium, waspaloy, A-286 and multiphase. Our fasteners support most current space programs as well as our nations fleet of military aircraft and weapon systems. We are dedicated to providing a superior product to our customers and seek only highly qualified people who take pride in their work to be part of our growing team.

Job purpose: Maintenance Technician II will support our growing production operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of critical aerospace manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, cold headers, and heat-treat furnaces.

As a Maintenance II Technician, you are expected to work with moderate independence, applying a strong technical foundation in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to minimize machine downtime and ensure a safe, efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute scheduled PMs on complex production machinery, including CNC mills/lathes, thread rollers, and forging presses, following manufacturer specifications and AS9100 quality standards.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving gearboxes, drive systems, bearings, chains, and sprockets.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems up to 480V (3-phase). Identify faults in PLCs, limit switches, contactors, sensors, and encoders.
  • Repair and maintain high-pressure hydraulic systems (valves, pumps, cylinders) and pneumatic lines, including leak detection and component replacement.
  • Maintain plant infrastructure, including HVAC components, plumbing, and material handling equipment (forklifts, hoists, and cranes).
  • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document all work orders, parts usage, and machine history accurately.
  • Strictly adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and OSHA safety regulations. Maintain a clean, 5S-compliant workspace.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in an aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED. Technical certifications (Electrical, HVAC, or Millwright) are highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machine tool repair (Fanuc, Haas, or similar controls).

· Basic welding and fabrication skills (MIG/Stick or Oxy-Acetylene).

· Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8–12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing of ladders or man-lifts.
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing shop. Exposure to high heat, loud noise, and oils/lubricants is common.
