At Summit Contracting, we know that when harvest season arrives, downtime isn't an option. Our Grain Dryer Service Technicians play a critical role in helping farmers and agricultural operations keep their equipment running safely and efficiently when it matters most.

As the premier builder of agricultural structures across South Dakota and Nebraska we're looking for dependable, mechanically inclined professionals who enjoy solving problems, working independently, and providing exceptional customer service. If you're someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working in the agricultural industry, we'd love to have you on our team.


What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair grain dryers of all makes and models.
    Perform preventative maintenance and pre-season inspections.
    Install, wire, plumb, and assist with new grain dryer installations.
    Manage daily service calls and schedule priorities using company systems.
    Maintain accurate job reports, inventory usage, and service documentation.
    Order replacement parts and maintain inventory levels.
    Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs, recommendations, and maintenance needs.
    Work safely in a variety of outdoor environments and weather conditions.
    Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment and materials.
    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.


What We're Looking For

  • Mechanically and electrically inclined
    Strong problem-solvers who enjoy troubleshooting equipment
    Self-motivated and capable of working independently
    Organized with excellent time management skills
    Customer-focused with strong communication skills
    Safety-minded in everything they do
    Willing to work overtime during peak agricultural seasons


Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
    Technical degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
    Experience with grain dryers, agricultural equipment, electrical systems, HVAC, millwright work, or industrial service
    OSHA 10 Certification preferred
    Experience with gas plumbing or electrical wiring is a plus
    Ability to operate smartphone applications used for scheduling and communication


Physical Requirements

  • Lift 50+ pounds regularly
    Work safely at heights
    Stand, walk, climb, and perform physical labor throughout the day
    Work outdoors in changing weather conditions
