Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager at Acterra Group plays a critical leadership role in overseeing complex projects while driving the development and implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and operational improvements across the department.
This position combines hand-on project leadership with strategic process development to improve project delivery, consistency, and efficiency. The Senior Project Manager will lead high-impact projects such as the installation of above ground fuel tanks for critical facilities including airports and military installations, while also evaluating workflows, establishing best practices, and implementing scalable project management processes.
This role works closely with project managers, field services leadership, and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives on improving systems, standardizing processes, and elevating project management capabilities across the organization.
Project Leadership
- Lead and coordinate construction and infrastructure projects, including the installation of above ground fuel tanks for airports, military installations, and other critical facilities.
- Oversee the complete project lifecycle from planning and scope development through execution, delivery, and post-project review.
- Apply PMP-based project management methodologies to manage project scope, schedule, resources, budgets, and risk.
- Serve as a primary communication point for project stakeholders, ensuring consistent updates and alignment between internal teams, clients, and leadership.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Field Services, project managers, and operations teams to ensure effective project execution.
- Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
Standard Operating Procedures & Process Improvement
- Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of standardized operating procedures (SOPs) across the project management function.
- Evaluate current project workflows, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities to improve consistency, quality, and execution speed.
- Implement standardized project planning, tracking, and reporting tools to improve transparency and performance measurement.
- Establish repeatable processes for project kickoff, risk management, cost control, scheduling, and closeout.
- Partner with leadership to align project management processes with company strategic goals and operational priorities.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through process refinement and performance feedback.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Managers and Project Coordinators to strengthen project management capabilities.
- Support onboarding and training related to project management tools, procedures, and best practices.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between project management, field operations, finance, and sales teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and proactive problem solving.
Performance & Operational Oversight
- Track project performance against key metrics including schedule adherence, cost management, and operational efficiency.
- Support departmental reporting and forecasting efforts related to project pipeline and performance.
- Contribute to strategic planning discussions related to project execution capacity and operational improvements.
- Assist in developing project management standards that support scalability as the organization grows.
- Oversee scheduling and field labor operations.

Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- PMP certification strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in construction, infrastructure, fuel systems, or industrial projects.
- Demonstrated experience developing or implementing SOPs, operational processes, or project management frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in regulated or high-security environments is highly valued.
- Proficiency in project management software and reporting tools.
