Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Aerospace Test Technician to join our Engineering & Technology (E&T) Labs department. This role is central to the fabrication, evaluation, and testing of aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts, and production assemblies.

In this position, you will be the key executor of critical R&D and contracted program requests. You will navigate a dynamic lab environment where competing priorities are common, requiring you to balance technical precision with effective scheduling and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on fabrication and evaluation of aerospace-grade materials, prototype parts, and production assemblies.
  • Verify requested tasks with internal customers, schedule work orders, and resolve conflicting priorities to ensure timely delivery.
  • Evaluate and develop new testing methods as required, establishing standard processes for future use.
  • Review test results with supervisors/management and communicate clear, accurate findings to the end customer.
  • Execute all tests in strict adherence to ASTM standards and specifications.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years executing materials tests to ASTM standards (e.g., Hardness, Tack-Free Time, Viscosity) with a strong ability to read, interpret, and apply these standards independently.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with fabrication and assembly techniques, including bonding, sanding, drilling, and material surface preparation.
  • 5+ years of experience safely mixing, weighing, and handling chemicals.
  • 5+ years interpreting and working from engineering drawings and technical schematics.
  • 5+ years of proficiency in a Windows-based MS Office suite environment (Outlook, Excel, Word) for communication, scheduling, and data processing.
  • Familiarity with composites manufacturing and layup techniques.
