Opportunity available for a Backend Engineer to join a collaborative development team building scalable, high-performance backend applications. This opportunity is open to candidates who are local to Minnesota and able to work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and microservices using Java and Kotlin.
- Develop and support RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.
- Build event-driven solutions using Kafka.
- Design, write, and optimize PostgreSQL queries and database structures.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA Engineers, and fellow Software Engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to software quality, performance, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Qualifications
\n
- \n
- 5+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong experience with Java and Kotlin.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL.
- Experience building applications using Kafka or other event-streaming technologies.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
- Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

- Experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks.
- Experience building cloud-native applications.
