In this unarmed patrol role, you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver strong customer service and communication. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related activities, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and other security-related concerns.
- Monitor entry and common areas, assist with de-escalation support when appropriate, and report policy violations, maintenance issues, and/or suspicious behavior to the appropriate personnel.
- Support a respectful and professional environment by following post orders, maintaining visible presence, and helping to deter unauthorized access and other security-related issues.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
