Job Responsibilities
As an Automotive Locksmith, you will:
- Cut and duplicate automotive keys for a wide variety of domestic and foreign vehicles.
- Program transponder keys, proximity keys, smart keys, and key fobs.
- Perform vehicle lockout services without causing damage.
- Decode vehicle locks and generate replacement keys when originals are unavailable.
- Repair or replace ignitions, door locks, trunk locks, and related components.
- Diagnose key, immobilizer, and security system issues.
- Utilize key programming and diagnostic equipment.
- Assist recovery agents with vehicles that require keys before transport or auction.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services performed.
- Keep company equipment, inventory, and work area organized and secure.
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable state and federal laws.
- Deliver professional customer service when interacting with clients, lenders, dealerships, auctions, and law enforcement.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- Previous experience as an Automotive Locksmith (preferred).
- Knowledge of vehicle locking systems for domestic and import manufacturers.
- Experience programming transponder and smart keys.
- Ability to operate key cutting and programming equipment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.

Experience with industry-standard key programming equipment is highly desirable.
