The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and employees. This role performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and responds promptly to maintenance requests.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel grounds.
- Complete preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Perform plumbing work, including repairing or replacing faucets, toilets, sinks, drains, pipes, and fixing leaks.
- Repair drywall, paint, doors, locks, flooring, lighting fixtures, and furniture as needed.
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
- Maintain pool equipment (if applicable) and coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs.
- Keep maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory of tools and supplies.
- Follow OSHA and hotel safety standards while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1–2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., use hand and power tools, and work weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
