Position Summary
Efficio Construction Services is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to provide onsite leadership for a federal construction project located in Portland, Oregon. The Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling, and overseeing all onsite construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within contract requirements, and in accordance with project specifications.
This position serves as the primary onsite representative and works closely with project management, subcontractors, suppliers, and government representatives throughout the duration of the project.
Essential Responsibilities
The Superintendent will interpret and review construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure work is performed in accordance with contract requirements. The position is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring project schedules, documenting daily progress, inspecting completed and ongoing work for quality and compliance, coordinating material and equipment deliveries, adjusting construction activities as necessary to maintain project schedules, and ensuring all work complies with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
The Superintendent is also responsible for maintaining a safe jobsite, communicating effectively with project stakeholders, resolving field issues, and providing leadership that promotes teamwork, accountability, and successful project execution.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of commercial construction practices, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and project coordination. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, effective leadership, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced construction environment.
Experience with federal construction projects is preferred. A USACE Quality Control Management Certificate is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain any required Department of Defense security clearance for project access. Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, demonstrate a professional demeanor, and possess a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Work Environment
This is a full-time onsite position in a federal courthouse based in Portland, Oregon. Travel may be required depending on project needs. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites when applicable.
Selection Process
Candidates whose qualifications most closely match the position requirements will be invited to participate in a comprehensive interview process. Interviews include an in-depth evaluation of construction knowledge, federal project experience, scheduling, quality control, OSHA compliance, problem-solving abilities, leadership capabilities, and communication skills. The anticipated salary range for this position is $85,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, certifications, federal construction experience, and overall fit for the position.
