Position Summary for Quality Assurance Specialist:

To maintain administrative functionality for the nursing department, to ensure compliance with DDSD Standards, HCA requirements, and State requirements for all service programs.


Requirements:

The Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for assessing the quality of the work within the Nursing department, will work with Human Resources, and assess the quality of work in Service Program.


Withing Nursing the Quality Assurance Specialist will help with auditing all nursing documents, systems, and state requirements while following the State Standards of Care. This role will assist and identify missing pieces within the documentation that is completed by program supervisors. Quality Assurance will also assist nursing as the pharmacy liaison and complete medication check-in's, notifications, and orders.


Within Human Resources the Quality Assurance Specialist will work with State Agencies as our liaison to any reported Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation allegations. This includes providing the agency with a weekly email containing updates on staff with any open reports. This role will assist with field follow up after any Handle with Care methods are used by staff and report any misuse or need for retraining to Human Resources. They will report any incidents to HR and ensure that an incident report is filed. The Quality Assurance Specialist will also audit CCHS binders monthly and complete employee competencies in the field to ensure process-based knowledge is on-going.


Within Service Program's the Quality Assurance Specialist will help with daily event reports to ensure timely submittals, and state standards are met with satisfactory turnaround of the approval of these reports. Also, determining where re-training is needed and identifying where the need for increased awareness is. This role will audit agency files in our systems for all programs. As the Quality Assurance Specialist, you will track and maintain all Health Tracking requirements, event reports submittals, auditing client files, and work as a team player within all three departments.


Quality Assurance Specialist job requirements:

  • Completed a Medical Assistant program or have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a related role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with all Microsoft Platforms preferred
  • Experience with Therap system preferred
