Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Analyst supports a large-scale public health data platform built on Salesforce. This role is responsible for ensuring application quality, data integrity, and functional reliability through comprehensive testing activities across multiple workstreams. The position collaborates closely with developers, business analysts, product stakeholders, and QA leadership within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for new and existing functionality
- Analyze user stories and acceptance criteria to create positive, negative, end-to-end, and cross-functional test scenarios
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing
- Validate system behavior across multiple environments and releases
Salesforce & Integration Testing
- Test Salesforce configurations, workflows, permissions, and business processes
- Validate Salesforce integrations with external systems and third-party services
- Test APIs and backend interfaces using REST and SOAP services
- Verify data conversions, integrations, and end-to-end process flows
Data Validation & Security Testing
- Perform comprehensive data validation across integrated systems
- Validate data integrity, consistency, and accuracy throughout application workflows
- Test role-based access controls, permissions, privacy, and security requirements
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards
Defect Management & Quality Assurance
- Document, track, and manage defects using Jira
- Record test execution results and maintain testing artifacts using Zephyr, QMetry, or similar tools
- Collaborate with developers to investigate and resolve defects
- Escalate critical issues and support root cause analysis activities
Agile Delivery Support
- Participate in Agile and SAFe ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
- Support user acceptance testing activities and business validation efforts
- Ensure testing activities align with project goals, timelines, and release schedules
- Maintain comprehensive test documentation and testing standards
- Provide recommendations to improve usability, reliability, and application performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools
- Stay informed on emerging testing technologies, automation approaches, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software testing
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Experience working in Agile Scrum or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments
- Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test execution strategies
- Experience performing functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing
- Experience testing Salesforce applications, integrations, and platform functionality
- Experience testing RESTful and SOAP APIs
- Experience validating data integrity across integrated systems
- Experience using Jira and Confluence
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting public health, healthcare, or government technology projects
- Salesforce Associate or Salesforce Administrator certification
- SAFe certification or experience working in a SAFe environment
- Experience with Zephyr, QMetry, or similar test management tools
- Experience testing data integrations with platforms such as Snowflake
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and continuous delivery practices
- Experience with Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD) methodologies
