Job DescriptionQuality Technician (Contract) | Immediate OpeningsPosition Overview

We are seeking a Quality Technician to support quality control operations within a precast concrete manufacturing facility. This individual will perform inspections throughout the production process to ensure products meet quality standards, dimensional tolerances, and customer specifications.

This is a 100% on-site position based in a manufacturing environment. The role does not require field travel and will focus exclusively on quality inspections, documentation, and production support performed at the plant.

We are actively interviewing and looking to hire immediately. Qualified candidates should be available to start ASAP.

This is a temporary contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on business needs and performance; however, extension or permanent employment is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-pour inspections of forms, reinforcement, steel, embeds, and inserts.
  • Inspect precast concrete products for dimensional accuracy, specified tolerances, and overall appearance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, piece tickets, and production drawings.
  • Verify placement and dimensions of cast-in embeds and other components using measuring tools.
  • Maintain accurate quality control records, inspection reports, and production documentation.
  • Identify, document, and follow up on quality concerns, defects, and required rework.
  • Conduct final product inspections prior to shipment.
  • Ensure finished products are properly identified, marked, and prepared for storage or shipment.
  • Assist with material and product testing as needed.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities for incoming materials and outgoing products.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in quality control, manufacturing, concrete production, or a related industry.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience performing inspections and maintaining quality documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, or production specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience using tape measures and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic quality-related issues.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in precast concrete manufacturing, ready-mix concrete, construction materials testing, concrete construction, or related industries.
  • Experience inspecting concrete products, construction materials, or manufactured products.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • ACI Certification is preferred but not required. Candidates with relevant industry experience are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Typical schedule of approximately 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work based on production demands.
  • Hands-on industrial environment requiring frequent walking, standing, inspecting products, and interacting with production operations.
  • Physical role requiring extended periods on your feet and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
