Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Maintenance Reliability Technician to help strengthen equipment performance and maintenance execution at our Newport News, Virginia facility. This position partners closely with plant leadership to coordinate preventive maintenance, improve asset reliability, and support daily technical troubleshooting across production and facility systems. The role is well suited for someone who combines strong hands-on maintenance knowledge with the ability to organize schedules, records, vendors, and follow-up actions that keep operations running efficiently.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate planned maintenance activities across production equipment, utilities, warehouse assets, and building systems to support safe and reliable operations.
• Maintain accurate asset information, service records, task schedules, checklists, and maintenance instructions so work is properly documented and easy to track.
• Monitor preventive and predictive maintenance completion, identify overdue work, and drive timely follow-up on open maintenance items.
• Assist with equipment reliability efforts by reviewing failure trends, supporting condition-based inspections, and helping reduce repeat downtime events.
• Provide technical support for diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on manufacturing and facility equipment as needed.
• Support troubleshooting of motors, drives, pumps, conveyors, valves, sensors, controls, and other critical components used throughout the site.
• Partner with operations and maintenance leadership to investigate breakdowns, contribute to root cause analysis, and help implement corrective actions.
• Organize spare parts inventory, coordinate outside vendors or contractors, and support operational readiness for equipment changes, installations, and startup activities.• Experience supporting maintenance and reliability activities within a manufacturing, processing, packaging, or industrial facility.
• Working knowledge of preventive maintenance planning, equipment troubleshooting, and maintenance documentation practices.
• Ability to diagnose issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with reliability tools such as inspections, condition monitoring, trend analysis, or other predictive maintenance methods.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, records, spare parts, and multiple maintenance priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance teams, production personnel, contractors, and site leadership.
• Exposure to technical environments involving tools or platforms such as Ansible, Apache ANT+, Terraform, Amazon EC2, or Kubernetes is a plus.
