A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a Site Safety Coordinator to support an active construction project in Sacramento. This individual will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture by working closely with field teams, subcontractors, and project leadership to ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about construction safety, enjoys being in the field, and can work independently while helping maintain a safe and productive jobsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on active construction projects
- Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and identify potential hazards
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Assist with new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while documenting findings
- Maintain safety records, reports, and required project documentation
- Partner with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field personnel to proactively address safety issues
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements
- Participate in safety meetings and recommend continuous improvements
- Support the successful execution of projects through proactive safety leadership
Requirements
- 3+ years of construction safety experience preferred, or a degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field
- OSHA 30 and current First Aid/CPR certification required
- OSHA 500, STS-C, CHST, or other professional safety certifications preferred
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and prioritize daily responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working on active construction sites, including climbing ladders, walking uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting as needed
- Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
- Passion for creating and maintaining safe construction environments
