Job Description

Kenner, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Technical Publications Specialist to create, maintain, and improve technical documentation, digital training materials, instructional videos, and AI-assisted work instructions that support manufacturing, field service, and customer operations. This position works closely with engineering, manufacturing, product support, and training teams to ensure technical content is accurate, organized, and easy to understand.


Essential Duties:

  • Capture and edit video of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, assembly procedures, repairs, and service activities.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, technical manuals, and training documentation.
  • Utilize AI-powered documentation tools to develop technical content from recorded processes.
  • Review, edit, and proofread AI-generated documentation for technical accuracy, grammar, clarity, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to verify technical information before publication.
  • Develop instructional videos and digital learning resources for employees, field service technicians, and customers.
  • Organize and maintain digital assets, video files, and technical documentation with proper revision control.
  • Support employee onboarding and manufacturing training through effective documentation.
  • Update installation, operation, maintenance, and service documentation with digital media enhancements.
  • Recommend improvements to documentation processes using AI and digital technologies.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to technical publications and employee training.


Requirements/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree in Technical Communication, Multimedia, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience in technical documentation, digital media, manufacturing support, training, or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software and AI applications.
  • Experience with video recording and editing or the ability to learn.
  • Excellent written communication, proofreading, editing, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and digital asset management.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.


Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly work in manufacturing and testing environments to document production processes and equipment operation.
  • Frequently operate computers, video recording equipment, and digital editing software.
  • Ability to move throughout manufacturing facilities and occasionally travel to customer locations as needed.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures in production environments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport recording equipment and related materials as required.
