Position Overview
Zedcor is seeking a Tower Operations Specialist to support the deployment of our mobile surveillance towers by working directly with field technicians in real time. This is a fast-paced, computer-based role built around a repeatable daily cycle: pulling deployment details, remotely configuring cameras and alert zones while on the phone with a field technician, verifying the system works, and accurately logging data across multiple software platforms typically 12 to 20 times per day. No prior technical or troubleshooting experience is required for this role full training is provided. What matters most is speed, accuracy, and the ability to stay organized while juggling several software applications and a live phone call at the same time, over and over, without losing focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull deployment schedules and site details from the team calendar and enter them accurately into multiple software platforms.
- Answer live calls from field technicians during tower deployments and guide them through the setup process step by step.
- Remotely set and adjust camera views to ensure proper site coverage.
- Define detection and alerting zones (Red Zones) for each deployed tower.
- Test alarms and detection zones to confirm everything is working correctly before sign-off.
- Accurately record and cross-reference deployment data across multiple software systems.
- Repeat this full deployment cycle approximately 1220 times per day, maintaining accuracy and pace throughout.
- Flag any equipment issues beyond basic setup to senior technicians troubleshooting equipment is not part of this role.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Strong general computer literacy comfortable navigating Windows and switching between several applications quickly.
- Fast, accurate typing and data entry skills.
- Clear, friendly phone communication you'll be talking field technicians through setup steps throughout the day.
- High attention to detail, especially when entering the same information across multiple systems.
- Ability to keep pace and stay accurate through a high-volume, repetitive daily workflow.
- Comfortable spending a full shift on the phone and computer at the same time.
- Ability to follow a consistent, structured process.
- No prior technical, networking, or IT experience required full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in data entry, dispatch, scheduling, call center, or customer service.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Interest in cameras, security, or technology (helpful, but not necessary).
