We are seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to support and maintain our IT infrastructure while ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of our systems and networks. This role requires a strong technical foundation in server administration, network management, and cybersecurity, along with the ability to provide end-user support and mentor a junior IT team member.
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience, enjoy working in a collaborative office environment, and be comfortable balancing strategic infrastructure responsibilities with day-to-day technical support needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows server environments, network systems, and related infrastructure.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance, connectivity, and security.
- Implement and maintain security controls, patch management, endpoint protection, and access management processes.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, group policies, and system configurations.
- Perform system backups, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity support.
- Monitor system health, investigate incidents, and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other office technology.
- Assist with workstation deployment, hardware installations, software upgrades, and equipment configuration.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and printer-related issues.
- Document systems, procedures, and support activities.
- Mentor and train a junior IT support employee, providing guidance, knowledge transfer, and professional development.
- Collaborate with management to identify and implement technology improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in systems administration, network administration, or infrastructure support roles.
- Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments.
- Experience managing network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Knowledge of server and network security best practices.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Proven troubleshooting skills across servers, networking, workstations, and peripheral devices.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience training, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with endpoint management and monitoring tools.
Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position in the Bossier City/Shreveport area.
- This is not a remote role; regular in-office presence is required.
- Position includes both infrastructure-level responsibilities and hands-on support for end-user technology needs.
