Ace Staffing is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector (Level I, II, or III) for a premier, direct-hire position located in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will monitor construction and engineering activities to ensure strict compliance with project codes, standards, and testing plans.
Candidates will be placed into Level I, II, or III tiers based on their specific experience and qualifications as outlined below.
Tiered Levels, Requirements & Pay Rates
LEVEL I (QA Level I) | $33.00 - $38.00 per hour
- High school graduate.
- Three (3) years of construction and engineering experience directly related to general field inspection on construction projects.
- Airport/Aviation construction experience is highly desirable.
LEVEL II (QA Level II) | $39.00 - $45.00 per hour
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management OR five (5) years of equivalent construction experience in areas like MEP/HVAC, paving, soils, aggregates, PCC work, bridges, etc.
- Airport/Aviation construction experience is REQUIRED.
- Prior airport project experience is highly desirable.
LEVEL III (QA Level III) | $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (such as Civil or Structural engineering) OR equivalent certification from a recognized organization.
- Ten (10) years of equivalent construction experience in areas like MEP/HVAC, paving, soils, aggregates, PCC work, bridges, etc.
- Special Inspectors who provide detailed inspections on structural steel, concrete, or masonry in accordance with applicable building codes are highly desired.
- Airport/Aviation construction experience is REQUIRED.
Core Responsibilities (All Levels)
Field Inspection & Compliance:
- Perform general field inspections of construction work for compliance with the Inspection and Testing Plan, contract documents, approved submittals, and field orders.
- Monitor contractor's site performance and analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Document any quality-related issues, resulting in Issue or Nonconformance Reports (NCR).
- Inspect materials and verify that various worksites are in compliance with FAA / FAR 139 standards (if applicable).
Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare Inspectors' Daily Reports (IDRS) and complete appropriate inspection checklists.
- Execute the Inspector Daily Report (IDR) at the end of each shift and attach it to the weekly timesheet tracking system.
- Provide and upload progress photos.
- Interface directly with Project Managers (PM), Construction Management (CM) teams, and QA Coordinators on all quality-related issues in real time.
- Advanced Responsibilities (Expected for Level II & Level III):
- Provide active troubleshooting measures that progress QA-related issues to the PM and CM teams.
- Monitor project schedule activities and identify when work activities are not taking place.
- Provide issue resolution recommendations and ensure corrective action plans are stated as part of the Issue or NCR within 10 days of issuance.
- Attend weekly QA meetings to discuss ongoing quality and progress issues.
- Coordinate with Quality Control personnel and Code Inspectors to ensure activities requiring Code inspections are complete and ready.
- Assist in reviewing the contractor-developed DFOW pre-activity meetings.
- Coordinate and conduct labor interviews in accordance with wage rate policies.
- Provide technical expertise in field construction activities.
